As I am unable to attend CROCK during the winter months due to moving away from the area, this months launch report including photos is all courtesy of Peter. Many thanks for supplying your photos and time to write this launch report. |

Mike launched his little Nuke "Pink Lady" on a big "G" motor to start the meeting, everyone lost sight of it as it went into the clouds and no-one saw it come down or heard the ejection charge. Then after a few more minutes Mike spotted it on the very edge of the field and walked straight to it even though no one else could even see it.
I managed to fly my Estes Videocamera Rocket "Oracle" 3-times - thanks to Malcolm for the squirt of Cyno after it broke a fin on the landing of its first flight. It managed to get three rather good flight videos apart from after parachute ejection the rocket started to spin to fast so the footage coming down is rather blurry.
We had a couple of other very nice "G" powered flights as well as a number of C and D powered flights from a family of a dad and two children who came for the first time. (never got their names) Malcolm launched a number of clustered "D" rockets including a 5x D clustered Saturn5 that did a really nice flight but broke a fin on landing. Also launched a very large black and white diamond rocket on 4-D's which launched very slowly and only got to around 150-feet before the parachute was ejected but the chute did not have time to open and the rocket lawn darted.
Another person launched a very nice AMRAAM on a "H" which vanished off the pad even beating my cameras 1/100th second shutter lag and then drifted into the distance crop field the other side of the road on a big blue parachute. It was finally recovered after a long long walk.
Hope this gives some information on a good days flying - we were there over 4-hours and saw a number of really good flights. Peter Barrett |
